cups memory issue

Hello,
We are using a bunch of revpi connect +'s in the field and we noticed they have this "cups" linux service (https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/CUPS ) . We noticed its on a bunch of the revpi connect+'s we recieved and assume its on all. Is this something kunbus needs for any revpi software it pre installs on the devices? There is a pretty severe memory leak on one of the revpi connects's we were wondering if can just uninstall it without any operational effects?
It seems to be some sort of pdf printing service so wouldn't think its too vital but not sure.
