Understanding about communication between RevPi Master and Gateway module

Hi community,
i'm newbie in area of RevPi module. Please help me to understand following problem.
I have a chain of RevPi Master (Connect), I/O module and a RevPi Gateway Profinet IRT an the end of chain. So i unterstool that we can write selected process data of system onto some slots of Gateway. Then the Gateway send this data to out side (to another Gateway connected with our Gateway) and recieve some data back from neighbor Gateway. But to do that, we need to configure the Gateway somehow with a configuration profinet controller.
1) The first question is, how can i connect the Gateway module with the configuration profinet controller?
2) When i configure the RevPi chain on PiCtory, i have seen that the Gateway 512 Inputs and 512 Outputs variables. These variables are already automatically connected with virtual slots of Gateway module or not? If i don't configure the slots in profinet controller and then change some variables with piTest, this change will be realized by Gateway? If not, how can i connect this 512 Inputs and Outputs to the slots?
3) My chain in following is correctly when we connect two systems with 2 Gateways?

Thank you in advance!
Song

Dear Song,

pls. flollow the video in which you can see the explanation about the modularity of the RevPi Systems and how to connect them:
Videos:
https://revolutionpi.com/tutorials/videos/

Pls. have a look at the video "Explaining the modularity of the Revolution" it approx. ath minute three.

You can use any profinet controller. A often used device is the Siemens S7. Please note if the communcation between two RevPis this might not be the best solution as this required additional hardware like the s7 cpu. For exchangig data between RevPi's I'd suggest to use something like modbus TCP or MQTT.

The 512 bytes is the max. possible payload for a gateway. The specific payload depends on the gateway / fieldbus type. Please refer to the individual gateway documentation for more details.
