Two major issues: RevPi Connect + with dead ports, and update failures

Hello All,

FIRST MAJOR ISSUE:
I bought 4 of the RevPi Connect + to use for OEM. 3 of them work as expected. The 4th one seems to have dead ports. By dead, I mean DEAD. Upon boot, 1) I can't use a keyboard 2) the ethernet ports will not indicate any lights (if and when I plug into it), and 3) I can't connect to the micro USB host port. Totally dead. Yes, I've tried RPIboot, but it does not see this RevPi. I presume I just need to swap it out for one that works. Do I do that through the distributor or do I send it straight back to you?

SECOND MAJOR ISSUE:
Btw, at setup with the desktop, it asks me to check for updates. I've done it twice now...and both times, the resulting install crashed my RevPi (there is a message about a script error for logi/rts). It won't boot, but I am able to recover it with RPiboot. This is a pretty frustrating out-of-the box experience.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that you have some trouble with the Revolution Pi. For the dead device please contact your distributor for the RMA procedure. The bug with the update in the graphical assistant was brought to our attention a short while ago. We're curently working on a fix. As temporary hotfix you can do the following:
  • Run graphical assistant and DON't click on reboot
  • Open terminal
  • Re-run update process with: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
  • Check for any error messages. If nothing seems to be wrong you can reboot
