Replace Siemens PLC with RevPi (hardware feasibility)

Hi,

I'd like to replace a Siemens PLC system (as shown in the attached image) using RevPi.
I must admit that I have no experience in Industrial automation system and really appreciate any guidance.

One specific thing I'd like to ask:
- Someone told me that I can reuse the whole system (except the Siemens PLC) if I can connect the RevPi core with these modules using Profinet.
-> Is this possible? Sorry if the question is silly, but I have no clue.

I am doing my own research and will self-reply if anything comes up.

Hi avu,

it is possible to use RevPi with Profinet.

For this, you can use e.g. a RevPi product with Codesys and Profinet

Example for CODESYS with a PROFINET IO Controller and a PROFINET IRT Gateway

In addition, it must of course be said that you then need a Profinet device to which the input and output cards are connected.
