Maximum Amperage Revpi DIO can put out in total?

So, on the specification sheet it states the maximum amperage that an output pin on the DIO is 500mA, which is great because it is enough to drive a solenoid valve. But my question is, can the DIO hypothetically be driving 7Amps if all 14 Outputs were pushing out 500mA?

For my application, I need to drive 5 solenoid valves at around 400mA, which is pulling about 2 Amps, can the DIO safely provide that much current only through its output pins?

Cheers

Hi, just have a look at the Spec sheet RevPi DIO.

Thank you for replying Dirk. What specifically are you pointing e towards in the specification sheet? I have read the specs for the DIO a few times now, and like my original post states, I know that an output can put out 500mA in high-side mode, but my question of whether all 14 output channels can output 500mA at the same time, and whether the DIO is capable therefore of putting out 7 Amps of current is still unanswered and unaddressed within the specs.

Could you please confirm, that the DIO is capable of providing 500mA from all 14 output pins at the same time, effectively providing 7 Amps in total.

Hi, you are able to pull 500mA out of every channel on the DIO which sums up to 7A (14*0,5 A).
