revpi-factory-reset with invalid serial and mac

Hi,
I wonder what will happen if one accidentally invokes revpi-factory-reset with wrong serial and/or mac id ?
If for instance I run this command
revpi-factory-reset core 0000 000000000000
it seems to be accepted and the factory password is printed.
What are the implications of running the command with the wrong mac id and serial (i.e. not the one on the sticker)?
Thanks in advance
