Default Login details for Jessie
Default Login details for Jessie
Hi!
I just downloaded the new Jessie mage in the RevPi Core 1.
But I am unable to login with the login details from Wheezy. I couldn't find the login details anywhere in the Jessie release notes.
I translated the German Tutorial and read it. However, even 'pi' & 'raspberry' did not work.
Can someone tell me what is the default username & password?
Thanks!

Re: Default Login details for Jessie
Hi deutek,
When you talk about "login" you must specify what kind of login you are talking about: Login on the device's web page? Login as a remote SSH user? Login on the command line of a local connected Monitor and keyboard? With a freshly installed jessie Image you should login on a local monitor or "headless" via SSH but NOT with a browser on the device's webserver. This is because the system needs to be configured with the individual login data. With local connection or SSH during THE FIRST BOOT you will have the default login "pi" and "raspberry" (please not that the "y" in raspberry is dependent on the keyboard layout which is by default the German one. You may need to exchange the "y" with an "z" if you are using an English keyboard).
You are then asked to type in your device's MAC and serial-number which are printed on the font of the case (MAC is in the middle above the USB ports and serial-number is underneath the USB ports the 2nd line, probably a 3-digit number).
When you have done this the system replaces the pw to the one which is printed on the label sticking to your case's right side. So the next time you will boot you get your login which was used when you received the device from KUNBUS.
Hope this helps,
Volker.

Re: Default Login details for Jessie
Hi Volker,
It was the keyboard ... I forgot about the German keyboard!
Btw, I was logging-in using the connected monitor.
Request: You should also add the Jessie tutorial to your English Guide.
Thanks!
Ankit

Re: Default Login details for Jessie
Hi,
I just downloaded the latest image and I can also log in with the default user name and password. Unfortunately it does not ask me to enter the serial number or the MAC address.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a possibility to trigger this process?
Thanks,
Lena

Re: Default Login details for Jessie
Hi Lena, you can trigger this via
Code: Select all
revpi-factory-reset
Re: Default Login details for Jessie
This doesn't seem to work either:
Any suggestions on what might be going on?
Code: Select all
pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo revpi-factory-reset
sudo: revpi-factory-reset: command not found
Re: Default Login details for Jessie
I could resolve the issue. Sorry, was my fault.
