Ethernet dropped out on Connect +

Post by ChrisDeveloper »

Hi there,

We have been bench testing a Connect+ 32 for a week and the ethernet dropped out.

We could not ping the connect.

I plugged in a keyboard and monitor to the connect could not ping any other devices on the network.

It fix it I had to run:
ifconfig eth0 down
ifconfig eth0 up

Obviously we can't drop this on a device in the field.

Could the driver be out of date?

Many thanks,
Chris

Hi ChrisDeveloper, thank you for the information that you've provided so far.
Do you have devices on your network with the same MAC address as this device i.e. with cloned images?
Could you please provide the contents a revpi-sos?

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
# edited 2020-20-27
#sudo apt install revpi-sos
sudo apt install revpi-tools
revpi-sos
Thank you

Hi Dirk,

'sudo apt update' worked but 'sudo apt install revpi-sos' did not. I am using aptCatcherNg as the kunbus are on a different subnet. I tried to apt get anther package and seemed to work (see attached screenshot).

FYI our network looks like this:

Main Controller (Ubuntu 20.04)
2 ethernet interfaces:

-> 192.168.1.x
-- My laptop:192.68.1.27

-> 192.168.2.x
-- Kunbus Connect+ : 192.168.2.3
-- Kunbus Core3 : 192.168.2.4

The Connect+ is using the image it came with, the Core3 as been reflashed with '2020-03-02-revpi-stretch.img'

Thanks ,
Chris

Hi Dirk,

I have tried to fetch the rev pi sos package on different 2 new kunbus' directly connected to the internet. I have attached the response.

What is the best way forward?

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi chris, sorry the package you have to install is "revpi-tools" - so you have to do this

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt install revpi-tools

Hi Dirk,

Have you had any insights as to what happened? I have emailed another sos report.

This is the first time this has happened to a connect+ for us. Could it be a hardware issue?

Kind regards,
Chris

Hi Chris, thank you for the sos-reports you have sent us. We have to examine the device here. I'll send you a RMA form via E-Mail.

Hi Dirk,

I'd like to get this resolved ASAP. We have 10 new kunbus devices installed in our electrical cabinets due for delivery in the next month.

As you can imagine, I am a little worried :)

Please email/send me the form.

Kind regards,
Chris
