RevPi Connect - Freeze

Post by michele.mussi »

Hi all,

I'm using RevPi Connect from one month, I've installed some software package like Node-Red and InfluxDb.
No I/O modules are connected to the RevPi.
For the first ten days the device has worked good, but after that time it's start freezing every day: the communications go down, I've tried to connect the monitor through HDMI but the screen was freeze on the destkop while mouse and keyboard was not working. In this situation led of network port still blinking: it seems they're working, but ping from other PC is not working and also all the sw communications.
By restarting the device it comes working again.
I've checked that the Hardware Watchdog is electrically disabled (by bridge of 0V and WD). The device is currently power with a Siemens Sitop PSU200M 24VDC.
I've tried to reinstall the last version of Stretch, and during this procedure the device has crashed several times.

I wanna install this device in some industrial production plant, but first I wanna make sure about the reliability of the product.
Do you have any idea how to solve this fault? May be a device defective?

Regards,

Could you check your /var/log/kern.log file for errors or post it?

I've got a Connect, witch got kernel errors - it is one of many :D

Hi,
I think the problem is related to the USB devices. Could you tell me exactly which USB devices you connected?
Did you use the wireless Logitech device when the Connect crashed?

Hello,
I connected a Logitech K120 keyboard and a M280 mouse.
I try to remove it and connect with ssh and see if the situation stabilizes.
I will write to you at the end of the test.
Thank you

Hello,
the device without keyboard yesterday worked properly.
This morning, however, I found it blocked, and during the day I restarted it 3 times.
I have attached the log.
