Option to enable the support for "RevPi ConCan" device in Bookworm OS
I'm trying to configure a "RevPi Connect S" with Bookworm OS.
I was used to using Bullseye OS, and in the web configurator, there was an option to activate the RevPi ConCan gateway.
Please see the attached picture; "Support RevPi ConCan device"
However, now I'm unable to find that option in the new web configurator "RevPi Cockpit"
Thank you
Regards

Re: Option to enable the support for "RevPi ConCan" device in Bookworm OS
Hello, rossanoparis I have created a test setup here and used a RevPi Bookworm OS for this:
I just created the PiCtory configuration and the RevPi Con CAN interface became active just like so:
I initialized the modules according to the tutorial at 1MBit/s each:
https://revolutionpi.com/en/tutorials/u ... -ansteuern
I think this option to activate the RevPi Con CAN interface has been dropped because it is obsolete.
You have to - as always - do the two steps to save and activate the configuration, i.e. via "File → Save as default configuration", "Tools → Reset Driver"I initialized the modules according to the tutorial at 1MBit/s each:
https://revolutionpi.com/en/tutorials/u ... -ansteuern
I think this option to activate the RevPi Con CAN interface has been dropped because it is obsolete.

Thank you, @dirk, for your reply.
In my previous post, I forgot to mention that I am using CODESYS, so the configuration through PiCtory is not necessary. With the "RevPi Connect S" hardware and OS versions from Stretch to Bullseye, I only had to enable the ConCAN option to get the RevPi working.
After searching through old posts, I came across this post.

Thanks to it, I found out how to enable the "Con CAN" device on Bookworm using the command:
That was all I had to do. But now, my question is:
You mentioned: "I think this option to activate the RevPi Con CAN interface has been dropped because it is obsolete."
Could you please investigate further, as I and others I think, may need to be certain about the "solution" I found.
Can you confirm this or provide more and consistent information?
Thank you very much.
Regards,
Rossano

Thanks to it, I found out how to enable the "Con CAN" device on Bookworm using the command:
Code: Select all
sudo revpi-config enable revpi-con-can

Hello Rossano, thank you very much for your helpful feedback. It's good to hear that you were able to successfully solve the problem yourself. I've already communicated this internally to development and hey, that's exactly the kind of feedback from the field that's worth its weight in gold. Thank you for that.
