Hi!
We're currently implementing the RevPi DMX gateway in our system and have noticed some strange behavior with the power LED on the DMX gateway.
When we (re)start the system or power supply, the power LED blinks red 50% of the time. When this happens, the DMX lights flicker, and the signal is unstable. It stays red until I restart the system. The other 50% of the time (if we're lucky), it works correctly, and the power LED turns green. This issue seems to occur randomly.
Here is some information about our setup:
- The issue occurs even when no DMX cables are connected.
- The rotary switches are set to 513.
- In Pictory, the number of outputs is set to 512 (excluding config_1 and config_2).
Do you have any idea what might be causing this issue? According to the documentation, a blinking red power LED indicates that the gateway "can't find a partner gateway." However, since the rotary switches are set to 513 and it sometimes works, that doesn't seem to be the issue.
Additionally, we're wondering how we can set the gateway to Sender mode without Active Termination. This is not clear in the documentation, but it is unrelated to the primary issue above.
Thank you!

Hello Maurice,
I wanted to inform you that the RevPi DMX has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Unfortunately, this means we won't be able to provide further support or updates for this product.
However, you might consider checking the following to address the issues you're experiencing:
2. Power Supply Issues: Ensure that your power supply is stable and meets the requirements for the DMX gateway. An unstable or insufficient power supply could cause the LED to blink red and lead to unstable DMX signals.
2. Check Connections and Hardware: Even though the issue occurs with no DMX cables connected, it’s still a good idea to verify that all connections are secure and that there is no damage to the hardware. Faulty cables or connectors can sometimes cause erratic behavior.
If you have any other questions or need assistance with alternative solutions, feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
