We post interesting use cases to give our community inspiration and to show what Revolution Pi can do in industrial settings. I guess you could call it an ad but our focus is on presenting the technical details while giving credit to the respective company. We also hope that we can encourage new connections within our community by showing what other people create. So marketing@kunbus.com is always open for interesting use cases.

Greetings
Ina

Hi. I was wondering if you had any overheating issues with this project? Based on the pictures, I imagine the outer box for the pis can be exposed to be about 40 C temperatures. I imagine the inside of the box getting hot.
I'm asking this because I'm thinking about whether to use the revpi or an ordinary pi with the board completely covered in heat sinks and a fan. The revpi doesn't seem to have good ventilation and as far as I know also doesn't have a fan inside it's own casing.

No overheating issues so far for the RevPi. There is also a Raspi installed in the kiosk for the LED display control with no heatsink.
We have used polycarbonate enclosures instead of steel for better heat dissipation and it has also a thermostat controlled fan.

Hi rpmacaisa,

That's amazing. By the looks of it, it seems that the fan is probably doing a good job circulating the air inside the box. And the opening (for what I assume is a card reader) serves as an exit point for hot air.

Are you using the full Raspbian OS for both the RevPi and RasPi?
